Love.

A brilliant smile.
much unlike any other.
It could light up cities;
I was just a little cabin
in the middle of the woods

I didn’t have much to offer,
that, I had to admit.
But I had a fireplace
enough to keep two warm

Spend the night, love.

I’d hold you
till the warmth of my body
too warms your flustered heart

I’d pour you,
hot tea and words of affection
till you see that
your glass has never been half empty,
but always half full

Tangled up in you,
you know I’d love for you to stay –

I’ll give and give and give,
  but we’ll find
that our natures don’t intertwine

You’ll leave in the morning,
for I am just a little cabin
in the middle of the woods
Whereas you, love, are
an explorer.

With love, k
